Shadow
A shadow falls as my spirit dies
The light concealed by a darkened sky
My dreams, enshrouded as they decay
Bound by sorrow, my hope slips away
And now a burning hatred consumes my soul
Trapped in a living nightmare beyond my control
Feeling isolated in this dying world
The truth becomes clear as I grow old
What good is it to persevere
When everything I love will disappear
There’s nothing left for me here
Every flicker of hope I once could see
Has been extinguished
By the suffocating grip of reality
This life is fraught with terror
And I don’t know what to do
As the black clouds start to gather
All my deepest fears ring true
Tempest
An upheaval, within my awareness
Tension builds, anticipating the tempest
The dimming horizon, veiling my clarity
Awaiting the impending catastrophe
Seeking refuge from the encroaching turmoil
But it’s too late, it hits me, and I recoil
Overwhelmed by its relentless force
Pummeling my consciousness without remorse
The storm intensifies, ripping through my mind
Tearing it to pieces, leaving nothing behind
I can’t find shelter from what’s raging within
No escape from the torment that I’m caught in
The winds roaring louder, drowning out my cries
There’s nowhere to go, under these darkened skies
Foundations destroyed, allowing my shadow to arise
Intrusive thoughts sweep through, and won’t subside
The storm relents, but I’m left in ruins
A tortured mind, a broken human
Sifting through the wreckage, to find what remains
A shattered spirit, with nothing left to gain
Bound
This intricate web of thorns
Clutches tightly onto my spirit
Piercing deeper
I beg for reprieve
Mercilessly
They tear at my heart
Yet through this torment and agony
A dormant strength emerges
One that was always within me
But of which I was unaware
Ripping the spikes from my flesh
Untangling this mess
With every thorn I extract
I catch a glimpse of freedom
Every step brings me closer
To the peace that I’ve been seeking
Reclaiming the life I lost
Finding my way back home
As I free myself
From the constraints that bound me
The scars serve as a constant reminder
Never to return to that place
Sapphire
A fountain of sapphire light
Shining brightly through the night
We’re enchanted by the glow
Transported to a world unknown
Eyes transfixed,
We’ve lost our way
In the brightness
Our life decays
In a labyrinth
Of shining beams
We slowly drift
From all our dreams
Lost in the luminescence
Trying to find our place
Gazing further into the indigo
Finding just a hollow space
Echoes occupy the empty air
Calling out but no one’s there
Slipping deeper into the void
A once hopeful life now destroyed
Yearning for something real
Yet afraid to truly feel
Our gaze is fixed, the price is paid
As real hearts are left betrayed
Burdened by the painted smiles
Drifting through life without a spark
